Derived from the meat of the mature coconut, the milk is high in oil content and sugars, while it provides 50% more calcium than dairy milk. The coconut flavour does not compete with curries and other spicy dishes and the product has a tendency to stay fresh longer.
The saturated fat in the coconut milk can easily be metabolised to give your body quick energy. The fatty acid found in coconut milk is lauric acid, which is the same fat found in in mother’s milk and has been found to promote brain development and contribute to healthy bones. Fat contents of the coconut milk is approximately 17%, while light coconut milk has a fat content of 10%.
