About Jack Link's
Category In the Cupboard
It was the native Americans who first invented meat jerky. They cut buffalo meat into thin strips, dried it in the hot summer sun, and smoked it over the fire. They seasoned the meat with herbs found in the vicinity and this provided nutrition during strenuous hunting expeditions.
This is where Chris enters the scene. He settled in Minong in Northern Wisconsin in 1885, and years later Chris’s son Earl, opened a supermarket with a meat counter selling amongst others sausages and dried meat. Years later Earl’s grandson was on a hunting trip with his two sons, and this is where Jack came up with the idea of trying out old family recipes in the production of jerky – and that’s how Jack Link’s Beef Jerky was born.
Today Jack Link produces pure, unaltered, genuine premium jerky with a special signature to ensure an authentic, enjoyable meat experience every time.
