About Hellmann's
Category In the Cupboard
HELLMANN’S was born in 1905 when Richard Hellmann began selling mayonnaise made from his wife’s own recipe. In 1932 the brand was bought by Best Foods before the Company was eventually acquired by Unilever in the 1990’s.
For a long, long time, the company has been committed to sustainable farming, responsible business, and doing right by the people who help make Hellmann’s. Not just because it makes products better, but also because it’s the right thing to do. Hellmann’s uses 100% free-range eggs which makes a huge difference to the quality of life of millions of hens. Farms are also chosen based on how they pick their crops in order to make sure that farms who supply Hellmann’s oils are dedicated to responsible farming practices that preserve and protect their land for future generations.
