Flora offers 100% plant based spreads, using only plant oils such as sunflower, linseed, rapeseed and responsibly sourced palm oil. The Flora range is lower in saturated fat than butter, and naturally contains omega 3 and omega 6 which makes it a delicious, healthy choice, for the whole family.

The brand was invented by a Lever Bros scientific development team in response to a request by the medical profession for a healthy alternative to butter and hard margarines. The end result was a spread that was high in polyunsaturated fat and at least 70% lower in saturated fat than butter. In 1964, the brand offered the first soft margarine suitable for vegetarians and in a year, it became the UK’s best-selling spread. Upfield is the company formed in 2018 to manage the margarine brands previously owned by Unilever. It is the world’s biggest margarine producer by far with around 27% global share. Flora is available in Original, Light, Buttery and Dairy-Free spreads and Flora Cuisine.
