Commonalities between the Products

Flora offers a range of products which can be enjoyed in a variety of recipes as part of a healthy diet. All products are made from 100% natural ingredients which makes them free from preservatives, artificial colours and flavours. Furthermore, these products do not contain hydrogenated fats which means that they do not contain trans fats, a type of fat associated with a number of negative health effects. The spreads are also naturally gluten free.

Different Uses

Flora Original and Flora Buttery can be used for spreading, cooking, baking, frying, and topping while Flora Light, due to its lower fat content, is suitable only for spreading and topping. If a recipe calls for margarine or butter, you can simply replace the ingredient with the same quantity of one of these spreads, considering that the type of spread is suited for purpose.

Flora lighter spread

Composition & Nutritional Value

Flora Buttery is a 75% vegetable fat spread, Flora Original is a 70% vegetable fat spread while the Light spread contains only 28% fat, providing only 25 kcal per 10g serving. This makes it a suitable option for the health conscious. All three spreads contain less saturated fat than butter. Saturated fats are considered unhealthy as this type of fat raises blood cholesterol.

Flora Original and Light spreads are made with a blend of plant oils including rapeseed, sunflower, linseed, and responsibly sourced palm oils. This makes them rich in omega 3, and a source of omega 6. Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids are essential good fats needed for normal growth and development in children. They also contribute to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels. These spreads are enriched with vitamins A and D. All ingredients are 100% plant based; thus, these spreads are dairy free and vegan certified.

Flora Buttery is made with plant oils blended with buttermilk. Just like the other products, this spread is rich in omega 3 and a source of omega 6. It is also enriched with vitamin A. Since it contains buttermilk, it is not suitable for a vegan or dairy-free diet.
