Small winery – large locations
Since 1642, our family has been dedicated to the cultivation of wine, especially Riesling. With the indescribable happiness of living and working in a unique and beautiful cultural landscape, we appreciate being able to draw on the experiences of our grandparents and great-grandparents.
The Riesling makes demands: on climate, location, soil and the skill of the winemaker. In the steep slate slopes sloping steeply to the Moselle, the Riesling grows in the ideal microclimate. The fine-slate, mineral weathering soils offer the Riesling the best conditions.
With attention to detail, from the vineyard to the cellar, we are committed to the highest wine quality. We pay particular attention to the elaboration of filigree Riesling wines and the terroir character of our world-famous locations: Trittenheimer Apotheke, Trittenheimer Altärchen, Graacher Domprobst, Graacher Himmelreich, Bernkasteler Badstube and Wehlener Sonnenuhr.
For the grapes of the large vineyards, we use our hands, all our senses, our passion and professional knowledge, with confidence in nature, with a lot of patience in the elaborate manual work on the steep slopes and the necessary time for the essentials, to create filigree wines that enjoy drinking.
Here, family tradition is combined through decades of experience by Heinz Eifel and the inspiration of oenologist Anne Eifel-Spohr to form a forward-looking unit. Rieslings with individual character are the result of this philosophy.
