Organix Baby Biscuits Voluntary Withdrawal

ORGANIX

Organix UK has pulled Organix Fingerfoods baby biscuits off the market in Australia following extensive discussions with the local regulator who raised concerns about the suitability of the food for babies under 7 months. However Organix UK have assured the consumer that food regulations can be different depending on the market and while these foods will no longer be available in Australia, they will remain on sale in other markets. In spite of this, as local distributors of the Organix brand, M&Z (Marketing) Ltd have decided to voluntarily withdraw from the local market until further notice.

Hereunder is the statement given by Organix UK and their explanation as to why they have decided to keep the Organix baby biscuits for babies from 7 months plus on the market.

‘We made the decision earlier this week to take the range of ring shaped Organix baby biscuits off the market in Australia following extensive discussions with the local regulator who raised concerns about the suitability of the food for babies from 7 months, and so in accordance with their procedures we issued a recall notice for the market. As you can imagine this is a very sensitive subject, we appreciate that all babies grow and develop at different rates and the choice of a parent to feed their child any food should be based on knowledge of what their child’s capability might be, as well as product labelling, however we understand the Australian regulator’s position. Food regulation can be different depending on the market and while these foods will no longer be available in Australia they will remain on sale in other markets’.

Hence, while the product will remain on the market in UK and other countries, it will be pulled from the local market until further notice. Anyone in possession of these products and wishing to return them to us for a full refund is kindly requested to get in touch on marketing@mz.com.mt.
